Saturday: In preparation to eventually move a bunch of stuff around and redo a couple of rooms, Ben tore out the wet bar in our basement. This turned out to be not too big of a project, but still bigger than he was expecting. The only bad thing was that he wanted to save the wainscoting for future use, but whomever built the wet bar intended for it to be a permanent fixture, and none of the decor was able to be saved. It's pretty basic though, if we need more in the future.
Sunday: My beautiful white rosebush is blooming. The blooms are delicate and perfect. And it's a wonderful Father's Day with amazing weather.
Monday: We got together Monday evening with a few friends for a barbecue. There was meat, potato salad, watermelon, Jell-o salad, and lots of fun!
Tuesday: Julie's smiles are getting more frequent, more deliberate, and more responsive. They are becoming our newest reason for joy.
Wednesday: A serviceman came to the house and replaced the igniter on our oven, which wasn't working. So now I have a normal oven again! No more taking two hours to make cupcakes.
Thursday: Thursday a friend came over to my house to hang out for a couple of hours. Betsey and I had been in the same ward our Freshman year at BYU, and hadn't seen each other in 9 years. She and her husband recently moved to Cleveland, where he is doing a judicial clerkship for at least a year.
Friday: Ben came home from work a little early, so we got to spend more time together in the afternoon than we normally do.
